Scaffolds 56,000 Sq. Ft. of Wall with MORGEN for under 7c a Square Foot, Ready for Masons

"We could never have achieved the production of 6-700 brick per mason per day, using nine masons, one mortar man and one saw man, without the use of Morgen Scaffolding," states Ron Hill, Assistant Superintendent in charge of masonry for Brasfield & Gorrie, Birmingham, Ala. "The Morgen System gave us top production by keeping our masons at their most productive level at all times."

The five-story building 82'x376' and 100' high called for 337,000 brick for the brick veneer. Masonry was completed in five months.

Brasfield & Gorrie used a 35-ton crane with 137 feet of boom and jib to erect the Morgen towers the full height of the building and then to move assembled pairs of towers from finished walls to a new wall. The crane was also used for stocking brick and mortar.

After a wall was completed, a tower spreader bar was lowered by crane and attached to the tops of two Morgen towers and 180'x100' of scaffolding was moved in two days by one crane operator, one truck driver, two carpenters and three laborers. The contractor says the building was scaffolded for under $4,000, about 7¢ a square foot. "We just could not have scaffolded this job for this price per square foot with any scaffolding but Morgen!" Ron Hill stated.

Morgen's two-level platform winches up the towers like an elevator. The advantages are obvious. A skilled mason that costs you 15¢ a minute works belly high without interruption all day long. This feature alone will increase masons' production 20%.

There's additional savings in labor. Material placed on the platform at ground level moves up as the work progresses. No need for laborers to wrestle planks and unused material from level to level.

Pairs of towers can be assembled, moved from wall to wall and dismantled by fork lift or crane. Morgen can be transported partially assembled on a special pallet on your flat-bed trailer.
