Appoint Hoogervorst
Lull Corporation has announced the appointment of Mr. Jim Hoogervorst to the position of National Sales Manager. Mr. Hoogervorst joined the corporation in June 1983 as Northeast Regional Manager, a position he held until his recent promotion.

Lull Corporation manufactures eight models of telescoping boom forklifts at their facilities in St. Paul, Minnesota and Waterloo, Iowa. Mr. Hoogervorst will maintain his sales office at the National Headquarters in St. Paul.

Chicagoland Groups Merge
Effective June 20, 1989 the Mason Contractors Association of Greater Chicago and the Mason Contractors Association of DuPage County merged. The new association will retain the name, Mason Contractors Association of Greater Chicago.

Officers of the new Chapter are: Mark Larsen, president: Harold Kochan, vice president; Art Christmann, treasurer and Albert Wendt, secretary.

Board members are: Gerhard Assmann, Robert Butendorf, Charles Heinz, Senon Hirsekorn, Don Johnson, Richard Lauber, Joe Martino, Rudy Rakoci, Sam Vinci, Ed Weyer, Jerry Williams and Joe Szabo.

Executive Secretary for the Association is Jim O'Conner with offices located at 1550 Northwest Highway. Suite 201, Park Ridge, IL 60068.

New Research Facility
A research facility that will use and test innovative concrete masonry products and systems, and other building materials, is now under construction in Blacksburg, Virginia, as a result of a dynamic partnership between the National Concrete Masonry Association (NCMA), Herndon, Virginia, the Virginia Polytechnic Institute (Virginia Tech), Blacksburg, and others.

Ground was broken July 17 for the new facility, which will produce new products and open new areas of research for the design and construction industry. Participants include the Virginia.

Jan E. Farnsworth has been elected Corporate Secretary of the Portland Cement Association. Ms. Farnsworth has been with PCA since 1981 and was formerly Assistant Corporate Secretary. She is a Graduate of Miami University, Oxford, Ohio. PCA has named Robert Crolius, Vice President of Washington Affairs for the association. Crolius joined PCA's Washington staff in 1978 and since 1985 has served as Director of Public Affairs. He is a graduate of Rutgers University. New Brunswick, N.J... Hugh C. MIT Names Procter
Brad Procter. Nashville, has been elected president of the Masonry Institute of Tennessee. Other officers elected were: Doug Sherman, Chattanooga, vice president and John Lechleiter, secretary-treasurer.

Harold Moore Retires
Harold E. Moore, General Manager of the North Texas Contractors Association, announced his plans for retirement effective Sept. 1. 1989. Harold has served as General Manager of NTCA since its formation in 1970, will join the faculty at the University of Texas at Arlington and teach courses in labor relations, labor arbitration and employee law. He will continue to serve as a consultant to the contractors association.
