About the City
SAN DIEGO

Although many consider the highly successful Orlando, Florida MASONRY EXPO '92 a hard act to follow, San Diego, with all of its natural and man-made attractions may well surpass Orlando's records. Dubbed the "perfect getaway", San Diego offers visitors a southern coastal location, combining the warm dry air of the desert with cool Pacific breezes. The result is a fabulous climate that meteorologists have labeled "perfect".

WEALTH OF ACTIVITIES

Attendees can choose from plenty of group and individual activities. Sports Illustrated calls San Diego "the sports capital of America." Golf, tennis, bicycling, boating, scuba diving and surfing are just a few of the activities offered. Whether chartering a boat for sport fishing or whale watching, to just kicking back and catching a few rays on one of the more than 27 miles of coastline, San Diego offers attractions for everyone.

Other popular spots include the world famous San Diego Zoo, the San Diego Wild Game Preserve, Sea World and Balboa Park. Restaurants range from waterfront venues to mountain views, from countryside settings to downtown excitement.

San Diego also boasts of being a shoppers' paradise, offering visitors an inviting variety of stores and merchandise. Choose from downtown Horton Plaza with nearly two hundred shops and Seaport Village which marries a seaside theme with a carnival atmosphere; La Jolla which offers exclusive boutiques; and Tijuana, Mexico, a duty free zone, which makes the city a shopping paradise.
