NATURAL LIGHT floods the interior (above), while a glass block window allows daylight to enter deep into the building (left). The exterior of the facility has been designed to reflect its strong ties to the industrial and academic community. Designed in conformance with the University material standards, the exterior building materials, brick, stone and bronze glass visually integrate the facility with the campus.
Student, faculty and community response to the center has been one of great pride. James Brandeberry, Dean of the College, upon hearing of the award said, "I am delighted that the Russ Engineering Center received this prestigious award.... The design of this building and the effective use of masonry materials reflects the high tech image that is so important to an academic engineering facility."
