Handler

Ingersoll-Rand's Construction Material Handling Equipment Group has raised the standards for all 6.000 lb. telescopic material handlers with the introduction of its new VR-642. The VR-642 offers a full 6,000-pound capacity to 42 of lift height, and a practical placement height of 40 feet. By maintaining its current A-Frame boom mount design, Ingersoll-Rand was able to provide the operator with outstanding overall visibility in the carry position. The operator can see clearly through the A-frame to the right rear and to the right side of the machine. The new VR-642 has an overall height of 95", thanks in part to a low-mounted engine in the center of the frame. This maximizes the weight low in the machine and in-between the axles, helping to make the VR-642 among the most stable machines in its class. Ingersoll-Rand's VR-642 is powered by the new Cummins elite series 483.9 (80HP, 2500 RPM) engine. An optional Turbo charged 483T.9 (110 hp 2500 RPM) is also available. These engines give the VR-642 the industry's best power-to-weight ratio in the 6,000 lb. class. For more information about Ingersoll-Rand's Construction Material Handlers, please write or send a fax to Construction & Mining Group, Dept. 664, 1495 Valley Center Parkway, Bethlehem, PA, 10019. Rebar Holder

STEEL-WICH, INC. is proud to introduce the CMU Adjustable Rebar Holder and "Steel-Wich-Method of installing reinforcing steel to structural hollow core masonry walls. This new device and method will literally revolutionize how rebar is installed today as we know it! What is the CMU Rebar Adjustable Holder? It is a new unique device which holds and precisely centers rebar in a block core. The unique part is that this holder allows for unlimited vertical movement of the rebar during block wall installation! What is the "Steel-Wich Method"? Using the CMU Adjustable Rebar Holder, the mason acquires a new capability to "Telescope" rebar during placement. This allows reinforcing steel to be installed, with ease, in areas of a masonry wall, which were difficult, if not impossible to do before. For more information, contact: Steel-Witch, Inc. P.O. Box 1936, Buffalo, NY, 14240 or call 716 683 7526.
