Photo above shows Lull 40 foot High Lift owned by Axel H. Ohman, Inc. being used to elevate and place mortar on the fifth floor level of the Macalester dormitory and dining hall construction job in St. Paul. General contractor for this 2½ million dollar project was Orville E. Madsen and Son, Minneapolis. This Lull machine was used by Ohman to handle approximately 635 yds. of mortar, 230,000 block and 280,000 face brick on this job.

(Continued from page 12) valley. The remaining 17 holes seem to be hidden somewhere behind a group of hills... Playing his usual good game, despite the obstacles, was Don Cook. He played the course in an unbelievable 74. The Ladies program was varied and enjoyable. A bus tour thru Ghost Town in the Sky, Maggie Valley, N. C., bridge, swimming and just plain relaxing plus tours of the shops in Gatlinburg.
Indiana Concrete Masonry Association will hold its southern region meeting on Sept. 16th at the Congress Inn, New Albany, Indiana. Portland Cement Association has announced four personnel changes effective August 1. Harvey J. Field, Jr. has been named district engineer for the Georgia-South Carolina District. John C. Seeger, Jr. has been named district engineer for British Columbia. Joseph P. Wade has been named to head the Association's New Jersey office, and Roy W. Gillette has been named manager of personnel training. Charles T. Penn, Vice President and Director of Indiana Limestone Co., Inc., died unexpectedly on July 1 while vacationing in Delaware. Mr. Penn had been on the Washington, D.C. scene representing this firm since 1926. St. Louis member Harry Grant is making a fast recovery from a recent illness.
The Associated Masonry Contractors of Houston at their July meeting heard Claude Hooten, Jr. discuss "Condominiums". Ed Shroeder, Chief of Specifications for C. F. Murphy & Associates is the new president of the Chicago Chapter of CSI. Denver Chapter member John Middel had an unfortunate accident on July 3rd when he fell thru some plywood on one of his projects. Understand John is making fine progress and he will be back on the job in a short time.
C. T. Grimm has resigned from the Building Research Advisory Board to accept reappointment as Executive Secretary of the Clay Products Association of the Southwest, according to an announcement by Homer Bryce, president, SCPI Region No. 11... Next meeting of the Indiana Concrete Masonry Association will be on Sept. 16th in New Albany, Ind. Gordon Stepanek has been named Executive Secretary for the Illinois Concrete Masonry Association. Gordon was formerly with the Chicago office of PCA... Kwik-Mix has announced the appointment of John C. Nordengren as Sales Manager with Eugene Bartelmey being named Correspondence Supervisor.
