In Memoriam
FRED WILKE

Fred Wilke, retired contrac-
tor, died recently of a heart
attack at his home in Milwau-
kee. Mr. Wilke was born Janu-
ary 7, 1884, in Milwaukee and
started his business in 1913. He
joined with his son, Neal in
1946 when the firm became
known as Fred Wilke and Son
Contractors. He retired from the
business several years ago.

Mr. Wilke was an avid sup-
porter of the Mason Contractors
Association of Milwaukee and
had attended many of the
MCAA National Conventions.
His firm joined the Milwaukee
group in the early twenties.

He who hesitates is probably pre-
paring to be tactful.

Firmness to you may seem an ad-
mirable quality, but to another it could
mean just plain stubbornness.

Bad officials are often elected by
people who don't vote.

If at first you don't succeed, you're
in the majority.
