Graffiti Coating System

A specially formulated paint that discourages graffiti artists has been applied to about 200 HUD-financed houses in eastern Pennsylvania. A prime coat and 2 finish coats of a urethane paint formulated by Coatings for In-dustry, Souderton, Pa., based on urethane chemicals from Mobay Chemical Corp., Pittsburgh, Pa., were applied to cover the writings on brick and concrete walls. When graffiti artists went to work again on the freshly painted surface, the markings were promptly and easily removed with conven-tional solvents without harming the painted surface.


Rebar Measuring Unit

A new and improved portable R-Meter for measuring reinforce-ment bar depth and size in poured concrete has been developed by James Instruments, Inc., 4048 N. Rockwell St.. Chicago, IL 60618. The battery-powered James Model C-4956 features a carrying case with chest strap for hands-free operation; a large, easy-to-read calibrated analog meter, and improved circuitry to increase instrument stability and sensitivity. The unit's weight has been trimmed to 5 lbs. and over-all dimensions of 8 x 10%" x 8%".


Skid-Steer Loaders

A new line of skid-steer load-ers has been added to the ex-isting line of highlifts manufac-tured by Lull Engineering Co., Inc., 3045 Hwy. 13, St. Paul, MN 55121. The Series 800 and 1200 loaders have respective load ca-pacities of 800 and 1,200 lbs. The new machines are equipped with self-leveling buckets to keep loads level at all lift heights. All operating functions are con-trolled by 2 hand levers, includ-ing forward and reverse, bucket raise, lower and tilt. Four-wheel hydrostatic drive provides smooth power delivery to either standard or flotation tires.


Masonry Anchors

An 8-page masonry anchor and drill catalog presenting an up-to-date picture of the manu-facturer's products is available from Rawiplug Co., Inc., 200 Pe-tersville Rd., New Rochelle, NY 10802. The new Steel Drop-In (internal plug) and seven sizes of button-head style toggle bolts have been added to the Rawl-plug product line. There is also an additional size of the stainless steel Rawi-Stud and more avail able sizes of the Zamac Nailin and nylon Nailin anchors.


Paver Splitter

Park Tool Co., Box 188, St. Cloud, MN 56302, has intro-duced the Hydra Split Paver Saver, a portable hydraulic split-ting device for cutting brick or paving stone when fitting and edging are required at the job site on paving installations. More than 24,000 lbs. of hydraulic pressure is generated by this machine to precisely cut brick, marble and sandstone as well as interlocking paving stone. The Paver Saver weighs 95 lbs. and has 2 heavy-duty wheels for ease of mobility.


Tile-King Tile Saw

A newly designed Tile-King tray tile saw designed for quick blade installation and minimum vibration, smoother finishes and more spindle power for faster cutting action has been an-nounced by Felker Operations, Dept. SB, 1900 S. Crenshaw Blvd., Torrance, CA 90509. The new Tile-King is equipped with a rugged, free-rolling table which accommodates flat tile up to 12" x 12". Maximum tile size for di-agonal cutting is 17 x 17". The unit accommodates 6", 8" and 10 blades.


Glen-Gery Brochure

Glen-Gery brick appears in the construction of many of the na tion's most notable buildings. Available in a diverse range of colors, textures, sizes and shapes, Glen-Gery brick is man-ufactured throughout the Mid-west and Northeast and is dis-tributed nationally. Portable Gas Heater

Here's a new LP gas construc-tion heater that offers higher btu capacity at lower cost and lighter weight than many similar prod-ucts. According to its manufac turer, L.B. White Co., Inc., 1825 Thomas Rd., Onalaska, WI 54650, the new Model 301 with 170,000 btu and rugged angular design is more efficient in fuel use than equivalent kerosene or fuel oil heaters and weighs only 46 lbs. It has electric ignition, a 450 cfm fan, and automatic flame-sensing shutoff valve.


Hand Cleaners

Two industrial-strength hand cleaners, fortified with lanolin and other soothing emollients to condition and protect hard-work-ing hands, are offered by Gen-eral Ba Bandages, Inc., 8300 Le-high Ave., Box 188, Morton Grove, IL 60053. Go-Jo cream hand cleaner and Go-Jo cleaner with Italian pumice are claimed to quickly remove even the worst imbedded grime gently and ef-fectively. The company offers a free first-aid and safety supply catalog on request.
