Rasmussen Buys
Super-Cut Line

Richard J. Rasmussen, formerly a vice president of Super-Cut, Inc., has purchased all the assets of the firm's Construction Products Division and formed a new company, Rasmussen Diamond Products, Inc., which he will serve as president.

The Construction Products Division manufactures diamond impregnated saw blades and grinding heads for use in cutting concrete, granite, marble, asphalt, masonry, refractory and other materials, as well as core drills for construction applications and conventional abrasive blades.

Sam Lowry Honored by
Building Trades Council

Sam Lowry, president of Lowry Masonry, Inc., Charleston, W.Va., has been named Contractor of the Year by the Building & Construction Trades Council of Charleston.

He was the first specialty contractor to be selected for the award by the 17 different trades comprising the Council. The award was made at a Labor-Management Banquet held on March 28. Lowry received a plaque inscribed, "In recognition of outstanding contribution to the betterment of Construction Labor-Management Relations in the Greater Kanawha Valley area."

West Virginia Governor John D. Rockefeller IV delivered the keynote address at the banquet, which was attended by union, state and local government officials.

Dayton Institute Holds
Breakfast Seminar

"Everybody Wants Good Design Or Do They?" was the title of a breakfast seminar on building design sponsored by the Masonry Institute of Dayton, May 23, at the Marriott Inn in Dayton.

A slide presentation on "Reflections in Sound and Structure" was also shown by James Platt, regional director of the Brick Institute of America.
