Rose's new territory will include Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, Arizona and New Mexico. In his new regional sales manager position, Rose will work to increase business across the expansive territory through sales collaboration with distributors, as well as arranging meetings and equipment demonstrations for potential customers.
Rose originally spent eight years working for Atlas Copco in South Africa, first as a sales representative and then as national distribution manager for Southern Africa and the Indian Ocean region. In 2001, Rose moved to the United States and spent four years as Atlas Copco's regional sales manager covering Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin. Rose holds the equivalent of a business degree in administration.
Hesskew will cover Texas and Oklahoma in his new position as regional sales manager for hydraulic attachments. Hesskew will work to establish a broader customer base with end users across the territory.
Hesskew has served as the internal sales/service coordinator and as service center manager in Atlas Copco's Texas service center since joining the company in 2003. Hesskew previously worked for a Komatsu Equipment dealer as a field service technician.
As a new regional sales manager, Francis will work to enhance the relationships with Atlas Copco's network of equipment dealers, as well as establish connections with new dealers. Francis will be responsible for sales of the entire Atlas Copco product line. The territory that Francis will cover includes Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana and western Kentucky.
Francis has extensive experience in construction sales. Prior to joining Atlas Copco, Francis spent two years as a factory representative in the Rammer division of Sandvik Mining and Construction.
Effective March 1, the Laborers' International Union and the International Union of Operating Engineers withdrew from the Building and Construction Trades Department, AFL-CIO, and will form the National Construction Alliance (NCA).
The unions said the new basic trades organization, which will be independent from the AFL-CIO and modeled after the National Heavy and Highway Alliance, will respond "to today's construction industry."
Laborers's President Terence O'Sullivan and Operating Engineers President Vincent Giblin pledged to provide further details on NCA's structure March 1.
Along with the Laborers' and Operating Engineers, basic trade unions expected to join the alliance are the Carpenters and Joiners of America, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, the Bricklayers and Allied Crafts, and the Bridge Structural and Ornamental Iron Workers.
The Laborers' and Operating Engineers combined represent about 1.1 million members overall with about 625,000 of those members on construction job sites. An estimated two million building trades workers would be represented by the alliance with the addition of the other unions said to be considering joining the alliance.
About 80 percent of the Carpenters' 525,000 members are employed in construction, while the percentage of Teamster drivers on construction projects is relatively small.
