Mustang Adds Joystick Control Option
Mustang Manufacturing Co. Inc. has added a new control option to its mid-sized skid-steer loaders. The new dual joystick pilot controls for models 2076 and 2086 will boost operator productivity by combining ease of use, precision and additional functionality.
Nawkaw Hires Walker to Manage Southwest Territory
Nawkaw Corporation has hired Duane Walker as a regional sales manager to handle operations for the Southwest portion of the United States. With the addition of Walker, Nawkaw can now effectively handle masonry staining requests throughout Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana.
Walker is a recent hire for Nawkaw Southwest, based in Deer Park, Texas, He has worked with Nawkaw during the past 12 months as a commission-based sales representative.
Walker has been a manufacture's representative for several companies in the masonry industry during the past 10 years, including Lambert Color, MK Diamond and PROSOCO, which specializes in masonry cleaning products.
2006 MCAA Midyear Meeting
Members of the Mason Contractors Association of America (MCAA) will convene at the 2006 MCAA Midyear Meeting in Maui, Hawaii, Nov. 8-11, 2006. Women Across the U.S. Help Build Careers in Construction
Plans are underway for the National Association of Women in Construction's (NAWIC) 51st Annual Meeting and Convention, September 6-9, at the Kansas City Marriott Downtown, Kansas City, Mo.
The convention will consist of networking, educational events and awards. Registration is available to both members and nonmembers. Last year, more than 700 women from the United States and five different countries were represented. Nonmembers interested in attending the convention may contact Shelly Reeves at recconvene@aol.com.
The Kansas City, Mo. Chapter will share its latest "Career Days" project with attendees. The "If I Had a Hammer program was created by Perry Wilson, a carpenter turned educator. By using real-world applications, third through ninth grade students learn about the language of math. The high light of the program is the building of the "Hammer House," an 8'x11' house that students build in about two hours using real power tools, hammers and safety goggles.
Other events include the "Red Hot & Blues" welcome party, the annual meeting with keynote speaker Stedman Graham, and the 12th Annual Crystal Vision Awards Gala.
