Jenkins Custom Photography Lid
Jenkins Custom Photography Lidification database. The database will track your progress to certification and will keep you informed of what credits are needed and in what disciplines you need them in. This service is included in the initial registration fee.
Credits may be self reported; however, detailed documentation of the courses taken and MCAA approval after the course has been taken are required. Courses taken outside the approved provider network may not be approved for credit.
The MCAA website will list all approved provider class offerings with full details on the class, day and time. A list of approved provider classes will also be listed in each issue of Masonry magazine.
Basic Requirements
Continuing education credits must be earned by the owner of the contracting firm in the following six disciplines:
Masonry Quality Institute (16)
Codes and Standards (10)*
Ethics and Business Practice (10)
Safety (10)**
Bidding Practices (5)
Masonry Products (5)
One of these courses must be at least four hours in length and specifically address Codes and Standards.
A comprehensive safety course is required, such as the OSHA 10-hour Training Course.
One hour of course time is equal to one credit. Therefore, an eight hour course would be worth eight credits. A thirty-minute course would be worth 0.5 credits.
56 total certification credit hours are required to meet the set minimum requirements for each discipline. The remaining 44 hours can be divided among the six disciplines anyway the contractor chooses. A maximum of 10 credits can be obtained from online education courses. 100% of the masonry firm supervisory staff must attain at least 15 continuing education credits in order to qualify to take the exam.
In order to pass the exam, the contractor must receive a score of 80% or better.
The Grandfather Clause
During the initial period that certification begins, the MCAA will grandfather education courses taken for both the primary owner and supervisors. You may go back up to five years and submit courses taken during that period. Documentation proving the courses were taken such as a certificate of completion, proof of payment for a course and a description of the course will be required.
Please contact the MCAA for more details regarding the grandfather clause.

The exam is 100 questions in length and is open book. In order to pass the exam and become certified, the mason contractor must receive a score
