Scott R. Nelson Named CEO, Doosan Infracore International
Scott R. Nelson has been named CEO of Doosan Infracore International (DII), a United States-based subsidiary of Doosan Infracore, a global manufacturer of construction equipment. The appointment was made by Yongmaan Park, chairman of Doosan Infracore.
Nelson will continue as worldwide president of Bobcat Co. while serving as DII CEO. His CEO responsibilities include all aspects of the global business for DII. Nelson replaces David Rowles.
Holcim Foundation Teams With International Union of Architects
The International Union of Architects (UIA) and the Hokim Foundation for Sustainable Construction seek to cooperate to inspire better sustainability performance in planning, architecture and building.
The global Holcim Awards competition for architects, engineers and related professions will raise its profile through closer ties to the UIA network of national architects associations. The Holcim Awards aims to progressively form a worldwide community of recognized practitioners of excellence in sustainable construction.
The competition celebrates ground-breaking and more sustainable approaches to designing and building houses, working environments and infrastructure, and also includes a "Next Generation" category for young professionals to develop "blue sky" concepts that point the way to the future.
The UIA Working Program on Sustainable Architecture assists the architectural profession in making an effective contribution to the challenges of sustainability on the local and global scale, and makes available architectural expertise in addressing sustainability.
Tnemec Promotes Thomas, Davis
Tnemec Co. Inc. named Mark Thomas as VP of marketing, according to Chase Bean, executive vice president. He will continue to manage Themec Co's marketing department and remain actively engaged in Tnemec's future success. Joe Davis was named as VP of technical service for the company.
Power Climber Hires Garafolo, National Sales Manager
Power Climber, a division of SafeWorks LLC, has appointed Dennis Garafolo as national sales manager. Garafolo brings to Power Climber 25 years of sales management experience in construction and safety products.
Russell will move to Power Climber's wind division as sales manager - North American Wind.
