Foundation Software's New Logo, Branding

Foundation Software Inc. introduced a new corporate logo design featuring a bold new look and color scheme. Foundation Software's re-branding effort comes as the company enters its 25th year in business. It is just one of many steps the company is taking to stay ahead in a competitive market. The company also plans to unveil a redesigned web site with educational elements designed to help contractors: a comprehensive article library, an enhanced directory of CPAS and professionals who have a focus in construction, and a blog site to encourage group discussion.

ASA Announces Executive Director

The American Shotcrete Association (ASA) appointed Chris J. Darnell as executive director. Darnell has extensive experience in the concrete industry, including serving 20 years at the American Concrete Institute as manager of certification operations and, most recently, manager of process improvement.

ASSE to Host Virtual Symposium on Safety Management

The American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) will host a live Virtual Symposium, "Best-in-Class Safety Management: U.S. and International Practices and Approaches," April 20-24, 2009. The symposium will focus on implementing and managing safety programs to meet the needs of the United States and global business environment.

The virtual symposium is a new service offered by ASSE in an effort to reach a greater audience, as ASSE understands that diverse and active audiences in the global marketplace require flexibility in education offerings, which a virtual symposium provides. The symposium will include examples and case studies from industry leaders on a variety of safety management systems; information on United States and international standards and how to deal with the standards and regulations of other countries; sessions that explore how to communicate a safety philosophy; discussions on how to integrate safety into corporate ethics and social responsibility; ways to benchmark an organization against a variety of indicators of safety excellence; and techniques for accurately measuring the safety performance of your organization.

Participants will experience the feel of being in a live, multi-session conference, but will be able to join the sessions as their schedules permit and view sessions they missed as a recording later in the day. For more information, call 847-699-2929, or email customerservice@asse.org.
