Finishing/Tooling
Mortar joints should only be tooled when the mortar reaches a "thumb print" consistency. Mortar joints tooled too late or over-tooled will be burned and darkened. Mortar joints that are tooled too soon or too wet will create a smear on the surface of the joint and will be lighter.

Select the gentlest effective method and cleaner that meet the project's needs. Use a commercially prepared proprietary masonry cleaner. Clean as soon as possible (generally after 7 days) from the top, down. Pre-wet all walls while keeping walls below wet. Upon cleaner application and cleaning, rinse thoroughly. Only one application of cleaner is recommended, with a maximum of two. Do not use muriatic acid. For more information, visit www.solomoncolors.com. MAS
