Southeaster Concrete Masonry Association President Byard Stevens was in Charlotte in August to once again present the SCMA program “Understanding Masonry.” The engaging presentation dispels misconceptions about masonry costs and perceived problem issues, and reinforces the benefits of all-masonry construction. Members of the Charlotte Architectural Collaborative listen to the program, which included a segment about NCMCA’s Masonry Contractor Certification Program. The Understanding Masonry program has been presented to architects, owners and engineers in both Carolinas, Virginia and in Tennessee. In most North Carolina presentations, NCMCA representatives have participated by introducing attendees to the certification program. NCMCA President-Elect, Bob Gates joined Stevens for the Charlotte program.
