CMHA Board Installs Sam Hoehner as Chair to Board of Directors

HERNDON, VA (February 13, 2024)—During last week’s Concrete Masonry & Hardscapes Association’s Annual Meeting in Denver, CO, Sam Hoehner, Regional VP of Greater Louisville for Lee Building Products was installed as the Association’s new Board Chair. Hoehner succeeds Matt Lynch of Oldcastle APG, who served as chair since 2022.

More than 400 attendees were on hand for CMHA’s Annual Meeting, which brings together the membership for committee meetings, the opportunity to connect and exchange ideas, to celebrate the past year’s accomplishments and give members an overview of the Association’s priorities for the ensuing year.

“On behalf of the Board of Directors, I want to thank Matt for his unwavering support and leadership as board chair over the last several years. Matt, who was chairing NCMA at the time and was a past chair of ICPI, played a key role in bringing about the unification of those two organizations and launching the CMHA brand. We are grateful that he remains on the board,” said CMHA President and CEO Robert D. Thomas. “Sam's wealth of knowledge and experience in the industry will strengthen CMHA’s efforts and his creative, strategic thinking will help shape the future of our organization and our industry.”

Thomas said, “I am confident in Sam’s leadership and know that he will bring an invaluable perspective and guidance as board chair.”

Hoehner attended Morehead State University where he played baseball and graduated with a Bachelor’s of Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting. He started his full-time career in the industry with Lee Building Products in the summer of 2000 helping with corporate inventory management and handling the monthly preparation and presentation of the financial statements. Hoehner attained his CPA license in 2001. In 2005, Hoehner moved to the Louisville area and took the leadership reins for Lee BP in that market. His experience with the Association began in 2015 when he attended his first NCMA meeting in Palm Springs. Over the last nine years, Hoehner has participated on many of the association’s committees—both pre and post-unification of ICPI-NCMA.

“I appreciate the trust and support of CMHA’s members to allow me to lead and serve in the role of chair over this next year,” Hoehner said. “It is a responsibility I take very seriously. It truly is an exciting time to be part of the masonry and hardscape industry. With the national concrete masonry check-off program in motion along with an association full of incredible talent ready to support and execute programs, the sky is the limit. It has been a great opportunity thus far to serve alongside such creative and inspiring individuals who continue to make us better. The confidence I have in our industry’s future is through the roof.”

Other board changes include the additions of David Pitre of Keystone Hardscapes as Vice Chair of the Board; Wayne Villaluna of Basalite Concrete Products as director and Hardscapes Committee Chair; Joseph Santarossa, Jr. of Santerra Stonecraft as director; and Matt Lynch transitioning into the role of Immediate Past Chair of the Board.
