Silica Alert - Amendment Opportunity Missed

Words: Jeff BuczkiewiczThank you for all your great work over the past week to get Members of Congress lined up to vote for the Amendment to block enforcement of the OSHA silica rule. Unfortunately, last night Congressman Huizenga, the main sponsor of the amendment missed his opportunity around 9:45pm last night to offer the amendment on the House floor during the allowable time (amendments must be offered in order), and therefore the amendment was not offered, debated, and will not be voted on.

We are extremely disappointed in this event and are looking for any and all opportunities to get this issue brought back up but opportunities remain very slim.

We will keep you up to date as we learn more.
