Registration fee is $54 per person, payable to the Mason Contractors Association of America. The Institute is limiting itself to 50 persons on a first-come, first-served basis.

The institute will be under the direction of George Conomikes, Director of Business Forum.


Natco Earnings Up

PITTSBURGH-Profitable operations for the first six months of 1962 were announced July 26th by Natco Corporation.

Net earning for the six months totaled $74,844 or 10.5 cents per share, compared with $58,866 or 8.2 cents per share in the like 1961 period. Sales amounted to $7,557,558, against 7,808,361 for the comparable period a year ago.

The conference review all current programs and studied efforts for increasing the use of masonry in the Pacific Northwest.

Following the Business session the member and their wives held their annual banquet and dinner dance in the main dinning room of the Dominion Monarch at dock at pier 50, Seattle.

The institute will be held at the Flying Carpet Motor Inn in Rosemont, a Chicago suburb near O'Hare airport, on October 5 and 6.


National Safety Congress To Meet

The 1962 National Safety Congress will be held in Chicago from October 29 through November 2. The Congress, annual convention of the National Safety Council, is the largest meeting of safety experts of the year.

At this writing he was still in the hospital, but a speedy, normal recovery is expected. The Portland Cement Association is putting out a new letter called TROWEL TALK as an aid to the masonry industry. You can get on the mailing list (if you aren't at present) by dropping a card to Portland Cement Association, 33 W. Grand Ave., Chicago 10.

Watch for news from Detroit on the new annual MCAA tournament initially sponsored by our chapter. The Pacific Northwest conference meeting held aboard the Dominion Monarch was another successful meeting. Hats off to Earl Blackstock, LeRoy and Jannes Nelson. Next conference meeting is scheduled for Klamath Falls, Oregon, during the spring. Bill Collins, formerly of the Unit Masonry Association of Cincinnati, has formed a manufacturing firm.
