Kelley Machine Division, manufacturers of contractors' equipment, has moved into a large modern factory at 1165 Clinton St., Buffalo, New York. The additional space will provide for Kelley's expanding line of new products. Robert J. Trauscht has been named to the architectural representative staff of the Philip Carey Mfg. Co., Cincinnati, and will represent the firm in the Chicago area, Paul D. Japp, Carey vice president, has announced. MCAA members are reminded there's still time to sign-up for the 3rd Management Institute to take place October 5-6 (see News page for more on it).
Koohring-Brissonneau S. A. Formed By French & U. S. Companies
Kochring Company of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Brissonneau et Lotz of Paris, France, have formed a new company to manufacture and sell Koehring construction machinery in the Common Market and for export purposes. The merged firm is called Koehring-Brissonneau S. A., and is located in Paris, with manufacturing facilities at Nantes and La Rochelle.

Other Industry Innovations
Other developments within the masonry industry have resulted in a large volume of building blocks for greater flexibility in masonry materials.
Some of these developments include the following:
Shadowal concrete masonry: This blends well to form a host of possibilities in virtually all constructions.
Split block: A block of rough textured, stone-like appearance is adaptable to uses of every nature.
Screen block: Used in fences, framing, or complete facades, the screen block filters sun and heavy wind, cuts air conditioning and heating costs.
Speechmaking-Sink or Swim
Most executives say they know how to make a speech, but asked to make one and a majority flub. To save you from sinking (if speechmaking is unfamiliar water) here are five rules to follow in organizing a speech:
1. Think about the subject for several days, then decide on what to present.
2. Eliminate all introductory remarks and extraneous material, get down to the facts.
3. Make the point of the talk clear to the audience by citing an example.
4. If possible, distribute examples to the audience or use a chart.
5. Time the talk at home, allow yourself three minutes to present your idea, then quit.
Follow these simple rules and you'll never find yourself in water over your head as far as speechmaking is concerned. It's just a matter of organization.
