More than 40 Mason Contractors and Suppliers attended Houston Texas Associated Masonry Contractors the chapter's May meeting. Scaffolding was discussed and displayed by Alexander, Doug Mathis and Read of Vancouver, Canada. The June meeting was devoted to first hand interesting facts on the European Common Market by Chapline, Jr., Assistant Vice-president and Assistant Manager of the International Banking Department of the Bank of the Southwest.

Gregory Abdian has been appointed to the newly-created position of executive vice-president of Herner Company.

The National Conference of Health, Welfare & Pension Plan holds their '62 workshop at the Denver Hilton Hotel September with some 1,000 conferees expected to attend. For further information write to Lee R. Polacheck, Workshop Director, 1215 W. Galena, Milwaukee 5, Wis.

NCMA's regional meetings schedule has been finalized, with the deadline from Sept. 23-25. Program replacements were to be mailed to members. Election of officers marked a recent meeting of Ohio Concrete Block Association: "Nate" Gorenstein, Columbus, president; C. W. Neikirk, Chillicothe, vice president: W. A. Rogers, Springfield, second vice president, and P. Batterson, Columbus, treasurer.

Koehring Company reported in a press release first half earnings of $1,412,000 or 87 per common share on net sales of $28,087,000 compared with earnings of $678,000 or 42 per share a year ago.

Newly-elected officers of Texas State are C. T. Crowe, president; Bill Lester, vice president; Alvin H. Lester, secretary-treasurer; Nolan Bailey, director, and Thurman Barnes, chairman of the board. The association set Oct. 21-23 as the dates for their semi-annual meeting, to be held at the Commodore Perry Hotel.
