President Nemec appointed the following persons to the Bricklayer Joint Apprentice Committee: H. Farmer, Chairman, Leo W. Schmidt and Joseph.

December 30, '62, was a gloomy day for the Szube Construction Company bowling team. They were chopped down by challenging Streator Brick Company to the sorrowful tune of 13 pins (talk about lucky!). The score: Streator Brick, 2604; Szabo Construction, 2591.
Why did the Szabo team fuil in their own bailiwicks? One source disclosed that Szobo's top bowler sustained an injury that kept him out of the competition; he was kicked in the shin by a pigeon that refused to yield the right of way on a northside walk. AMC Survey at NAHB Meeting
Home builders expect to build more housing in 1963 than in 1962, with a drop in the number of single-family units offset by a sharp rise in apartments and row housing or duplex dwellings.
This summary of the 1963 housing market emerged from a survey conducted for the Allied Masonry Council among 500 of the nation's home builders. The survey, by the firm of Walter Gerson & Associates, was made during the 1962 convention of the National Association of Home Builders in Chicago in December.
The builders said they plan to increase apartments by 60 percent and decrease private dwellings by about 8 percent. While the number of row/duplex dwellings they plan to build is small, the percentage increase in significant -1.5 to 3.5 percent.
