Standard Products Div.. . William C. Swanson has been appointed Chicago District Sales Manager for Milwaukee Crane Div. of Novo Industrial Corp. Walter H. Miller has been appointed to the technical staff of Sika's Chicago District Office.
Joseph Gagliano, administrator of the Mason Tenders District Council Pension and Welfare Funds, New York City, has been elected to membership on the Board of Directors of the National Foundation of Health, Welfare & Pension Plans, Inc. Program Co-Chairman of the Milwaukee Chapter Gerry Dufour and Neal Wilke presented an interesting program for that group's April meeting. It was "Pro-Football Highlights of 1964" with film arrangements being made by Max Justman, U. S. Gypsum Co.
New members of the MCA of Milwaukee are Lesperance Builders, Inc., and Superior Masonry Builders, Inc. Two of Tennessee's foremost firms in the production of concrete products will merge into a single corporation to be known as Breeko Industries, Inc. They are Franklin Concrete Inc. and Breeko Industries. Carroll Strohm, Jr. will be president of the newly established firm. Al Schultz, Chairman of the Milwaukee Chapter Picnic Committee, has announced that the group's annual picnic will be held on June 27th.
Diamonds were a man's best friend for a visitor from Douglastown, New York recently who won the top prize in Omark Industries "Count the Carets" industrial diamond contest at the Mason Contractors Association of America Show in Chicago. The man with the built in jeweler's eye was Diamond Products Manager Bill Todd holds 30-inch blade manufactured by Worcester, Moss, division of Omark. Giant blade was part of display at recent MCAA convention.
Charles J. Bachteler who walked off with an 11" portable TV Set for his guess of 508 carets only 3 under the correct total weight of 511.
Seven others won runner up priz according to Omark's Chicago bram manager Robert E. Voorhees. Nett clock radios were Roger Becker, libertyville, Illinois (who missed correct figure by only 9 carats), R Paquette, Newington, Conn., Manny Caplan, Teaneck, New Jersey. Earning electric can openers were c Mertins, Racine, Wisconsin, Fram Stelzl, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Rob N. Hansen. Elmhurst, Illinois and Ann Perri, Brooklyn, New York.
The Omark industrial diamond exhibit on which the contest was based involved three types of natural diamonds plus man-made stones. A single stone weighing 17.62 carats, large even for industrial diamonds, was also shown. The compact table top display was valued at more than $5000.
On the first morning after the honeymoon the husband rose bright and early, went down to the kitchen and took his wife her breakfast in bed. She was thoroughly delighted. Then the hubby spoke: "Have you noticed every little detail?"
"Of course; every single thing dear."
"Good," replied her husband. "Well that's how I want my breakfast served to me every morning after this."
