Registering in the members at the St. Louis Management Institute were Robert Horrison and Fred Doves. Bob is a member of the Education Committee while Mr. Daves was Chairman of the St. Louis course.
Note books, tables, reference data and necessary materials are provided to each of the persons attending. Next course will be in Hopkins, Minn, on January 7 and 8, 1966.
Here Ed LeJeune, featured lecturer, illustrates a point during the Masonry Estimating Course. With the 41 registered at St. Louis, MCAA passed the 65% mark in seeking an attendance goal of 400 in a 12 month period from May 1 to April 30, 1966.
NEW SPECIFICATION
Standard specifications for poured-place vermiculite concrete roofs and floors-on-grade have received recognition on a national scale with the issuance of American Standards Association A122.1-1965.
Its preparation by A.S.A. was initiated and sponsored by the Vermiculite Institute of Chicago. It was developed by a broad A.S.A. committee representing 25 organizations, including the American Society for Testing and Materials, the National Bureau of Standards, American Society of Civil Engineers, and building code officials.
H. Westby, technical advisor to the Housing and Cement Products Bureau of the Portland Cement Association, was chairman of the committee.
Single copies will be furnished without charge by the Vermiculite Institute, 208 South La Salle St., Chicago 4. III.
SCPI ELECTS OFFICERS
At its annual Convention held at the Greenbrier Hotel, Homer Bryce, Henderson Clay Products Co., Henderson, Texas, was re-elected President of the Structural Clay Products Institute. Other officers re-elected were George C. Sells, General Shale Products Corp., Johnson City, Tenn., Vice President and George Gammie, Illinois Brick Co., Chicago, III., Treasurer.
Elected Secretary was Thomas S. Lennon. Mr. Lennon succeeds Joseph Cermak who is retiring. Richard Otterson is Executive Director with Douglas Whitlock, Chairman of the Board.
