Allied Masonry Council Meets

FTI Appoints Anthony Avellar

Chicago, Illinois-Announcement has been made by John M. Aldworth, executive director of the Chicago based Facing Tile Institute, of the appointment of Anthony Avellar as regional director to take charge of its operations in the New York City area. Mr. Avellar, who has a fifteen-year background in the architectural and designing fields, will make his headquarters at 342 Park Avenue in New York City.

In representing the FTI, his responsibility will be to promote continued use of structural facing tile and to encourage its specification in new construction by architects and designers. He will also assist dealers and distributors who handle the products of FTI members, and he will provide regular market and other pertinent reports to the Institute.

The recently reorganized Facing Tile Institute is the sponsor of a nationwide program to encourage the use of structural facing tile in all appropriate building areas and to encourage and maintain a program of rigid quality control over all products involved.

John H. Stewart, Jr., of Stark Ceramics, Inc. is president of the organization.
