Arthur Culver, President of Port Costa Clay Products Co. has announced that Bruce T. Johnston has been named Sales Manager of that organization. Port Costa Clay Products Co. is one of California's oldest and largest manufacturers of clay brick as well as lightweight aggregate.

New Safety Requirements
Safety Requirements for Floor and Wall Openings, Railings, and Toe Boards has been approved as a USA Standard by the USA Standards Institute. This standard provides for safety in all places where there is danger of persons or materials falling through floor or wall openings, or from stairways or runways. It also applies to temporary or emergency conditions as well as to permanent ones. It defines the hazards and provides the specifications for the safety devices required.

The standard presents the minimum requirements for use by employers and building owners. Its adoption and enforcement by administrative authorities is recommended.

USA Standard Requirements for Floor and Wall Openings, Railings, and Toe Boards, A12.1-1967, is a revision of A12-1932.
