What Every Woman Doesn't Know by Gustave Simons

For every woman-married, single, divorced, or widowed employed or unemployed-here is an authoritative, fully documented guide to economic well-being for herself and her family.

Beginning with a picture of woman's position in today's economic and legal structure, the author explains in specific detail how she can plan her financial future. He describes the important benefits to look for in employment. He explains the protection afforded by the different kinds of insurance, as well as the advantages of private and group policies. He examines corporations, partnerships, the capital-gains law, both developed and undeveloped real estate as roads to security. The stock market is discussed at length, and its advantages are balanced against other methods of investment.

Available from MCAA Executive Office for $6.95.

New Markets

The booming lodging industry, one of the brightest areas in the building and remodeling market, has a new, fourth type of facility of interest to builders, architects and suppliers, says HOSPITALITY Magazine, Chicago. It is the motor hotel.

The lusty newcomer is already doing over $2 billion a year in sales. It is described as a "property with transient lodging facilities built or completely modernized since World War II, open more than half the year, and containing at least 50 guest units, plus adequate on-premise free parking and other hotel services".

The other established categories of the lodging industry are hotels, motels and resort lodges.

In new construction activity, the lodging industry spends over $1 billion a year; it's a bigger housing market than Los Angeles, and it's about twice as big a market for builders, designers, and suppliers, as all of New York.
