Masonry Research has announced
the addition of James E. Amrhein, a
well known structural engineer to its
staff. According to Leonard L. Thomp-
son, Executive Director, Mr. Amrhein
will provide engineering and other
technical data concerning masonry de-
sign to engineers, architects, designers
and building officials. General
Portland Cement Co. has announced
the appointments of Charles W. Gru-
be, Assistant to the Manager of the
Engineering and Construction Depart-
ment, and Russell E. Hailstone, to the
newly created post of Technical Di-
rector of the Operations Department.
Both men will be headquartered at
General Portland's Dallas office
John L. Warne has been named Gen-
eral Manager of Omark Industries'
Construction Tools Division, accord-
ing to Edward S. Smith, group Vice
President. He succeeds Robert G.
Waddell.

The Michigan Mason Contractors
Association, Inc. held its first annual
State Meeting and Outing at Shanty
Creek Lodge in Bellaire, Michigan,
September 13th and 14th. A mixture
of business meetings and relaxation
were the order of the day. Credit must
be given to the outstanding golfer of
the event, Orie Van Daalen. Orie
walked away with the 'gold brick'
award for 1968. National MCAA
President, Don Bidwell was in attend-
ance, and spoke at the membership
meeting. Joseph J. Matesic has been
named to the new position of Supervi-
sor of Physical Distribution for the
Power Tool Division of Rockwell Man-
ufacturing Co. Christensen Diamond
Products Co. announces the appoint-
ment of C. Melvin Spjut as Industrial
Product Manager.
