Detroit MCA Stages Annual Outing

Golf chairman Jim Stalmack awards prizes to successful contestants Wes Liddle, Don Pfeifer, Sheldon Wheatley, Robert Pachota and Joe Giannota.

Comfortably cool and sunny weather created a pleasant day for the annual outing of the Detroit Mason Contractors Association at Bay Pointe Golf Club on July 21. Seventy-one golfers made the rounds of the championship golf course and vied for an equal number of prizes.

A side event, the traditional ball game between contractors and suppliers, also was held. The contractors won again by the wide margin of 17-7.

A number of representatives from the trade unions and political circles attended the outing as special guests, including State Senator Raymond Dzendzel. In all, some 250 persons were on hand for the day-long festivities, which were topped off with a steak dinner.

Prizes are announced by R. Vandervennent and recorded by Greg Cummings. Tom Reeder supervises drawings in background.
