Williamsburg Board Meeting
At the beautiful and historic Colonial Williamsburg, Va., MCAA held its Summer Executive Board Meeting on June 29th July 2nd. The Board was extremely fortunate in having adjusted its meeting dates by one week for this area was on the fringe of tropical storm Agnes.
This was a working meeting and starting the activities off on Thursday morning were the trustees of the International Bricklayer and Trowel Trades Pension Plan who met for the first time in executive session. A full report on this important development will be made in next month's issue. Concurrently meeting were the trustees of the International Masonry Institute. A report on the IMI advertising campaign was made by Ray Lackey, Henry J. Kaufman & Associates. From April through November ads will be seen up to six times in magazines such as Progressive Architecture, Buildings, Apartment Construction News, Building Design & Construction, and several times in Fortune, Architecture Canada, National Underwriter, Building Official & Code Administrator and Canada's Building Development. Neal English, Executive Director of IMI, discussed administrative matters and reviewed the recent Loadbearing Seminar conducted in Chicago. The trustees then analyzed the Promotion Meeting held in Washington, D.C. on June 20-21.
