# MASONRY HANDBOOK
Customized architectural concrete masonry, construction and manufacturing improvements that minimize wall cracking, and advancements in hot and cold-weather construction techniques are among the more than 150 subjects covered in the new edition of "Concrete Masonry Handbook For Architects, Engineers, Builders," now available from the Portland Cement Association, Skokie, III.

# Royal Tops Prior Records
Royal Industries reported new highs in results for the second quarter and six months ended June 30, 1976.

Second period net income rose 43% to $2,385,000, equal to 40g a share, from $1,670,000, or 28 a share in 1975. Sales gained 13% to $74,391,000 from $66,122,000.

For the six months, net income of $4,525,000, or 76e a share, surged 71% from $2,640,000, or 45¢ a share, reported in the same 1975 period. Sales of $146,123,000 climbed 20% from $121,910,000.

# PERSON KNIGHTED BY SWEDISH KING

Oscar Person

Oscar F. Person, of the masonry contracting firm. Person-Western, Inc., Burlingame, has been knighted by King Karl XVI Gustaf of Sweden by receiving The Order of the North Star First Class. The distinguished medal was presented by Sweden's Consul General Hans Sjold at the Swedish Consulate.

Person is marking his 50th year in the United States and his 40th year in (Continued on page 24)


# TCI Adds Badger, Expands
Ivan Bowen, President of TCI, Inc. has announced the acquisition of Badger Dynamics, Inc., and its merger into TCI Power Products, Inc. The name of the expanded company will be TCI Power Products, Inc.

Effective August 12, 1976, this move will considerably expand the line of TCI Power Products, Inc., and strengthen the product offering in construction, industrial and agricultural markets.

Badger, Port Washington, Wisconsin, manufactured the Dynalift, a unique 4-wheel drive unit featuring a telescoping boom for accurate placement of materials. Badger also produced a hydrostatically powered, 2000 pound capacity mast type forklift known as the Bucky.

Mr. Bowen also reported that Badger production will be relocated to Yankton, South Dakota,


# MEDUSA ELECTS FORT
The Board of Directors of Medusa Corporation, Cleveland, has elected Robert W. Fort chairman of the Board of Directors effective October 1. Mr. Fort curently is president of Medusa and will continue as chief executive officer, a position he has held since 1970. The Board also elected Mr. Scott A. Rogers, Jr. president and chief operating officer effective October 1.

Mr. Ellery Sedgwick, Jr., who has been chairman of the Board since 1965, will continue as a director and chairman of the Executive Committee.

Mr. Fort, 64, is a graduate of the University of the South and the Harvard Business School. He is a director of National City Corporation, Cleveland, and is vice-chairman of the American Mining Congress, Washington, D.C.
