Weathering The Storm

We all know there are tons of storm and rain clichés and quotes, but I won’t bore you all with the ones I know and love. As I write this, a storm is going on, it feels like I’m right in the middle of it, and I can’t help but compare this boisterous storm to our current situation and “new normal.” If this storm doesn’t teach me anything, it reminds me that bad weather and situations like COVID-19 can only last for so long. We will get over this current self-quarantine and health pandemic and will be stronger than ever.

Over the past three months, lots of things have changed, like how we order food or get groceries. I’ll admit as a Millennial I’m a fan of being able to order groceries for drive-up pickup, and I think it saves me money, so it’s a win-win. This is in addition to the online shopping that we all have done. This situation shows how resilient and innovative we all can be. Prior to this, I never would’ve considered ordering my groceries or doing new types of exercise in my living room. The idea of being indoors can be disheartening but it really has helped me to get back to my mindfulness, and reevaluating what’s really important to me and my family.

I can’t help but appreciate everyone that is out there working during this time. From the medical professionals to the construction industry, and essential workers overall, we appreciate you all! Seeing how hard and diligently the women and men in this industry work even during this pandemic is inspiring. We are here for you and hope you enjoy what this issue has in store for you.

We are all weathering this storm and will be better for it! That’s enough of me and my rendition of a motivational speech. Let’s get into what we have for you in this issue. Following my note, you will find a PPE Maintenance article, an article highlighting Mortar Net Solutions’ Scholarship program, and an informative legal article on handling employee disputes.

Our cover story features exoskeleton technology from Strategic Partner Fraco, so be sure to check out this innovative article. There are also articles featuring a beach-side case study, a GEN NXT interview with new Journeyman Max Berry, a cast stone maintenance article, and an informative Efflorescence Q&A.

If you haven’t already, follow us on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter for the most up to date information on what’s happening. The MCAA also has an informative COVID-19 Resource Hub with toolbox talks and additional information that can help during this time. For more information visit coronavirus.masoncontractors.org.
