This new booklet by architect Maximilian L. Ferro is the result of a commission by SERMAC to develop more information on historically significant masonry buildings. One of the major services offered by SERMAC, a division of Servicemaster Industries, Inc., is the chemical cleaning of masonry structures. The company is using the booklet as an educational tool for its independent service operators.
Author Ferro is a graduate in architecture from McGill University, Montreal, Canada, and was formerly the resident architect for the Society for the Preservation of New England Antiquities, Boston, Mass.

A new edition of Major Labor-Law Principles Established By The NLRB And The Courts has just been published by BNA Books, a division of The Bureau of National Affairs, Inc. (BNA). Prepared by Howard J. Anderson, senior editor for labor services of the BNA organization, for the use of labor attorneys, industrial relations executives, union officials, and arbitrators, this handbook presents in convenient, quick-reference, tabular form the issues and holdings in NLRB and court cases decided between December 1964 and December 1975-which established major-law principles in the areas of antitrust laws, arbitration enforcement, equal employment opportunity, the Railway Labor Act, and representation and unfair labor practice cases under the Taft-Hartley Act.
Editorial comment indicates the background, history, and significance of each case, and provides extensive references to earlier court and Board findings on the various issues. A complete Table of Cases Cited is included in the handbook.

Designed as a reference source for engineers, architects, draftsmen, students and building construction supervisors, this book features a practical approach to the design and construction of standard cantilever retaining walls, a term which includes most common foundation walls. It also makes use of computer-generated tables to present solutions which provide a check for designers as well as the basis for design.
Several chapters are concerned with a particular type of cantilever retaining wall and include for each type design criteria, examples, tables and drawings of the retaining walls designated in the tables. The book additionally contains 24 separate design examples and three appendices which give supplementary design data tables, building code design criteria, and design equations and tables.
