Iowa Masonry Institute Presents IMI Film to Architectural School
The International Masonry Institute's latest film, Architects/Architecture, continues to be well distributed-and well received. Pictured here is Charles Nicolay, president of the Masonry Institute of Iowa, presenting a copy of the film to K. Dunker, dean of architecture at Iowa State University. Prints of Architects Architecture are being distributed by IMI and local/regional masonry promotion groups to each accredited school of architecture in the U.S. and Canada.
NCMA Installs Chairmen
Loren E. Santo, president and general manager of Pumice Products Co., Meridian. Idaho, was installed as board chairman of the National Concrete Masonry Association during the group's recent annual convention in New Orleans, La. Donald C. Sheffield. president of Mathis-Akins Concrete Block Co., Inc., Macon, Ga., was installed as board chairman-elect.
Installed as members of the board of directors were Cloyce D. Harrison, executive vice president and general manager. Crego Block Co.. Albuquerque, N.M.; Curtis Laughlin. Jr., executive vice president and general manager, Carolina Quality Block Co.. Greensboro, N.C.; H.V. "Corky" Moss.
Dur-O-waL Grants Specifications Scholarship
In 1971, Dur-O-wal, Inc., Baltimore, Md., leading producer of masonry wall reinforcement systems, established the John S. Ianuzzi Scholarship Award for Excellence In Specification Writing to honor its long-time employee on the occasion of his being named a Fellow of the Construction Specifications Institute. Ianuzzi retired in 1974 but is still active in CSI activities and retains a strong interest in students who exemplify the highest proficiency in specification writing. The picture depicts Ianuzzi presenting the award to the 1978 recipient, Robin Mach, senior student at Syracuse University School of Architecture. Pictured with them (from left) are Julio San Jose, associated dean at the school of architecture: William F. Fagan, vice president of Dur-O-wal, and Robert Phillipi, professor at Syracuse University School of Architecture. This award has been granted annually from 1971 to date and is scheduled to continue.
MCA of St. Louis Honors Fred Daues
Fred C. Daues, president of the Mason Contractors Association of St. Louis, was recently honored with a plaque in appreciation of his service as chairman of the Masonry Institute of St. Louis from 1976 to 1978. In that role Daues established the local and national reputation of the Institute as a dominant vehicle for industry advancement and promotion.

British Firm Announces Formation of American Forklift Company
Thomas Tilling Ltd., London. England, has announced the formation of American Liner Corp. to manufacture, market and distribute the revolutionary "Giraffe" line of material handling equipment in North and South America.
For Tilling, a multinational industrial holding company with reported annual sales in excess of $2 billion, the investment is part of a planned $400 million total investment in the United States during 1979. Tilling said.
