Cooper, a Denver corporate safety director, as her special assistant for construction. Carl C. Gregory, presently chairman of three Los Angeles-based real estate firms, has been elected to the board of General Portland, Inc., Dallas, Tex.
In a recent letter to MCAA, an old and dear friend of the Association, Honorary Member Peter Baier, brought us up to date on his retirement activities. He and his beloved wife, Helen, reached another important milestone on October 6 when they celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary! Our sincerest congratulations to the happy couple. They still maintain their permanent home in Hobart, Indiana, and were expecting to take up residence in their winter home in Florida in mid-November.
Pete was looking forward to yet another milestone on December 18. He'll be a spry 75 on that date. He says that keeping up two homes occupies most of his time, but he's delighted with the maintenance chores. Spoken like a true Mason Contractor!
Scott G. Arbuckle has been named president of the hand tool divisions of Wallace Murray Corp., New York, N.Y. In his new capacity, Arbuckle will oversee the operations of the Thorsen Tool and New England Carbide divisions. Penn Virginia Materials Corp., Willoughby, Ohio, has appointed Eugene O. Goeb vice president of engineering. Goeb had been marketing services director of Medusa Cement Co. The National Institute of Building Sciences has moved to 1015 15th St., N.W., Suite 700, Washington, DC 20005.
Glenn P. Schimpf has been elevated from vice president/sales & marketing to executive vice president of Dayton Sure-Grip & Shore Co., Miamisburg, Ohio. John P. Galuardi has been promoted to deputy commissioner of GSA's Public Building Service in Washington, D.C. Robert Mulvin, vice president/sales & marketing, is to assume management of Huntington/Pacific Ceramics, Inc., Santa Fe Springs, Calif., according to Kenneth B. Roath, President of Pacific Building Corp., the firm's parent company. Assistant Secretary of Labor Eula Bingham has announced the appointment of Roger A. Clark as director of OSHA's Office of Field Coordination and Experimental Programs.
