Historic Relevance Is Key

Factor In Selecting Winners

of "M Awards" In Michigan

Dearborn, Mich.-Historic relevance was a key factor in three of the four buildings selected as winners of 1978 "M Awards" for excellence in masonry design in the fourth annual honor awards program sponsored by the Masonry Institute of Michigan in cooperation with the Michigan Society of Architects. The awards, all of equal value, went to:

Cleaners Hanger Co., an office building in Bloomfield Township, designed by Rossen/Newmann Associates, Southfield.

Fire Department Headquarters, Ann Arbor, designed by Fry/Peters Associates. Ann Arbor. The building is adjacent to the city's historic fire station.

Livingston County Courthouse, Howell, a complete restoration of the historic 1889 structure by William Kessler & Associates, Inc., Detroit.

McDonald's Restaurant. Ann Arbor, designed by Hobbs & Black Associates, Inc., Ann Arbor, to blend with the many historically significant buildings in that area.
