Rauenhorst Corp. Wins Design Award

The design and construction of Data Card Corporation's international headquarters in Minnetonka, Minn., has won for Rauenhorst Corp. the 1979 Design Excellence Award presented by the Minnesota Masonry Institute.

The Institute singled out Rauenhorst for innovative design, environmental concern and energy conservation in building materials. The single-story, L-shaped Data Card office/manufacturing facility wraps around a wooded ravine in Opus II, a Rauenhorst owned and developed center for business and industry. The exterior features jumbo brick, tinted glass and rounded corners which soften the visual impact of the 112,000 square foot building. A unifying soldier course of vertically placed brick lines the building wall above window level.

The Rauenhorst Design Group developed the architectural and engineering plans for the structure and worked closely with the company's construction specialists throughout the building process.

Koehring Restructures Sales Regions

The Koehring Company's Compaction and General Equipment Group has reorganized its Western Hemisphere regional territory structure, according to Ron Wettlaufer, the group's vice president, marketing.

Under the new organization, marketing of Bomag, Master and Skytrak product lines will be divided into four geographical regions, instead of the previous three. "This realignment, made necessary by increased business plus new product introductions, will enable us to respond better to the needs of our distributors and their customers," Wettlaufer said.

The new Central Region covers central United States, and will be headed by John J. Lockwood. Formerly group district manager for southeastern United States, Lockwood will be located at group headquarters in Dayton, Ohio.

The other Compaction and General Equipment Group regional territories are Western, Eastern and Latin America. Western, consisting of western United States and western and west-central Canada, is headed by Ian Andrews. Eastern, covering eastern United States and eastern and east-central Canada, is directed by Neal Goldblatt. The Latin American Region covers all of Latin America and Florida and is managed by Bob Bailey.

Koehring's Compaction and General Equipment Group is a leading manufacturer of ride-on and walk-behind compaction equipment for soil, asphalt and refuse; stabilization equipment, and general construction equipment including concrete trowels and vibrators, oil-fired heaters, rough terrain construction forklifts, and engine-powered alternators.
