U. of Florida Dedicates
Architecture Building
The University of Florida recently dedicated its new College of Architecture building at its Gainesville campus. The $5 million, four-story structure was designed by the Miami-based firm of Ferendino/Grafton/Spillis/Candela, architects, engineers and planners.
The college now claims to be one of the largest architectural schools in the United States, incorporating five departments in its new home-architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, building construction, and urban and regional planning.
NTCA, Robinson Brick
Mark 10th & 100th Years
June 15, 1980 marked the tenth anniversary of the founding of the North Texas Contractors Association. Harold E. Moore serves as general manager of the association with headquarters in Arlington.
In neighboring Colorado. Denver's Robinson Brick & Tile Co. celebrates its 100th birthday this summer. George W. Robinson founded the company in the days when a horse provided the power to mix the clay and water, and the brick were first sun-dried before steamcuring with cordwood.
Harsco Reports Record
Sales and Net Income
Sales and net income of Harsco Corp., Harrisburg, Pa., both set record highs for 1979, according to the firm's annual report just released. Sales totaled $945,275,000, up 16%, and net income was $51,962,000, up 12% over 1978.
Harsco, established in 1956 as an outgrowth of its precedent company. Harrisburg Steel Corp., is a multinational diversified enterprise engaged principally in primary and fabricated metals, defense, and construction. Included in its four construction divisions is Patent Scaffolding Co. of Fort Lee, N.J.

ACI Elects Officers
New officers of the American Concrete Institute were installed at the awards luncheon during the organization's recent annual convention in Las Vegas. The new president is Charles J. Pankow, president and treasurer of the contracting firm of Charles Pankow, Inc., Altadena, Calif.
The new vice president is Peter Smith, director, Systems Research & Development Branch, Ontario Ministry of Transportation & Communications, Downsview, Ont., Canada.
