Gentlemen:
As Masonry magazine is the official publication of the Mason Contractors Association of America, I, and many others across the nation, have thoroughly enjoyed the articles and photos you have published. For this, I take this opportunity to thank you for the excellent work you have done.

Notwithstanding the fact that you have not always made a profit (an understatement), it is like construction: we love our work and it is still wonderful to just sit back and see the physical fruits of our labors, irrespective of profit.

For some time, however, I have thought that our magazine should give our people an opportunity to answer back and present their views in their publication. Accordingly, I would like to suggest a page in this magazine be devoted to the readers and writers who want a forum to present their views. I can think of dozens of topics which could be discussed, or opinions that could be submitted. One could disagree, or refute, or agree and complement your view. This potential is endless and the results would be an interesting page of new information.

If the above thoughts have not turned off the editor so far, I would go further and suggest that the title of this new readers' page be selected by the membership. Such headings as "The Contractors Forum." "The Contractors Viewpoint." etc., are titles to consider. A contest would provoke interest and certainly get it going.

Thank you for the opportunity to submit my thoughts. Hope someone agrees with me!

►Our first reaction is that Mr. Knuth has an excellent idea, and we are totally receptive to it. We welcome the readers' thoughts and suggestions on this subject. If you, too, think this a worthwhile idea and worth pursuing, please let us know and we'll start the editorial gears in motion to get this project off the desk and into the pages of "Masonry."- Ed.
