Masonry Advisory Council Gives Grants-In-Aid
Donald McIntyre (left), secretary/treasurer, BAC Local #23, Chicago; Charles W. Ostrander, executive director, Illinois Masonry Institute, and Donald E. Larsen, chairman of the Institute's board of trustees and advisors, draw the winning names for two memorial grants-in-aid given by the Masonry Advisory Council headquartered in Park Ridge, III.
The winners were Donald David Bay of Northlake, III., a freshman in the school of civil engineering at the University of Illinois-Chicago, and Michael Vinci of Palos Park, III., a junior in the school of architecture at the University of Illinois-Champaign. The grants, worth $500 each, are given in memory of the men and women who dedicated their careers to the advancement of the masonry industry.
Masonry Institute Accepts Producers, Suppliers
The Masonry Institute of Washington, Seattle, has extended its membership to include manufacturers and suppliers of masonry products. MIW executive director Tim A. Stover said, "Suppliers and manufacturers have many common goals and concerns, some of which can be addressed most effectively by an industry association such as MIW, rather than by the individual companies acting alone."
