over a five-year period. "The Committee's nine-month marketing study will identify the potential opportunities and threats through the year 2000 for all segments of the masonry industry," Guy said.

The current activities of the Masonry Research Foundation were covered by William M. Sangster, chairman of the Foundation's Advisory Committee and dean of the Engineering College, Georgia Institute of Technology. Projects receiving all or part of their funding from the Foundation include a study of composite masonry wall systems at the University of Florida in Gainesville; research on bonding of brick and block at Clemson University, Clemson, S.C.; development of an index on masonry research by the Centre for Masonry Research & Development in Calgary, Alta., Canada, and a study of thermal design techniques for specific masonry materials at Alfred University. Closing remarks were made by George A. Miller, executive vice president, MCAA, and L.. Gerald Carlisle, IMI trustee and executive vice president, BAC. Ray Lackey, IMI executive director, served as moderator for the meeting.
