MCAA Publishes Booklet on Material Handling
"Proper Procedures for Job-site Masonry Material Handling" is the title of a new booklet produced by the MCAA Material Handling Committee.
Purpose of the new publication is to bring to the attention of those involved in masonry construction the importance of good material handling habits. The booklet points out that basically 50 percent of the cost of a masonry wall is directly related to labor, of which one-third is related to material handling.
"Control of this cost represents a large potential savings to the in-wall cost of masonry," said Tony Luczynski, Material Handling Committee chairman. "The content of our publication is aimed solely at helping the mason contractor to reduce his in-wall costs."
The fully illustrated, 24-page booklet covers subjects such as brick and concrete block packaging, jobsite preparation, masonry product storage, and efficient use of forklift equipment.
Single copies of the booklet are priced at $1.00 plus 50€ postage and handling. Special quantity prices are available on request. To order, contact MCAA Executive Office, 17W601-14th St., Oakbrook Terrace, IL 60181, (312) 620-6767.
