Distributors Predict Healthy Year-end Sales

Construction equipment distributors are forecasting that 1985 gross sales will close at a median 10% higher than a year ago, according to the mid-year business conditions survey conducted by Associated Equipment Distributors, the Oak Brook, Ill.-based trade association.

The 225 survey participants believe their last-half sales will also bring in a 10% increase over the last six months of 1984, which will help achieve the healthy year-end result.

The 10% increase applies to all three categories of distributors-heavy earthmoving equipment dealers, general-line distributors, and smaller, lighter equipment distributors.
