When Granite Is Not Granite
Editor:
Regarding the item "Granite-Clad Building..." on page 49 of your January/February, 1986 issue, a man-made, pressed fired clay product is not a natural stone. There should be a distinction made in the description. The natural stone, granite, has become so popular some ceramic tile manufacturers are trying to capitalize on the name. At least Fiandre is honest. They call their product "ceramic granite." Since others are failing to make this distinction, the Marble Institute of America must point it out.
