MCAA Education Committee Seminars

Seminars will be presented in cooperation with the MCAA Education Committee chaired by Sam Lowry. Two other seminars are being planned along with a presentation by the Masonry Systems Marketing Committee.

MCAA Trade Show Scheduled

The MCAA Educational Trade Show, now a biennial event and last presented in 1985 in Las Vegas, will be back on the road again in Dallas. The interest and enthusiasm displayed by exhibitors has been unusually high and promise to make the '87 Show one of the most successful in the Association's history. The exhibits will again be supplemented by the Material Handling Showcase-the popular demonstration of rough terrain forklift and other material handling equipment staged outdoors on the hotel grounds.

Delta Air Lines has been designated as the official carrier for the MCAA Conference. Delta is offering to MCAA members special rates which afford a 5% discount off any Delta published round-trip fare within the Continental United States including San Juan. This includes Super-saver and other promotional air fares. (These discounts are available only through Delta's toll-free number, which will soon be made available to MCAA members.)

For those passengers not qualifying for any published discounts, a 30% discount will be offered on Delta's domestic system for travel to the Conference. This discount will be based on the full non-discounted, round-trip day coach rates. Seven days advance reservations and ticketing will be required on this fare along with a maximum stay of 21 days.

Although it is one of the nation's largest and busiest transportation facilities, Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport is a traveler's delight in terms of convenience. Located midway between the two cities for which it is named, the airport is a city to itself as far as services go. Distance to downtown Dallas is 17 miles. In 1984 more than 32 million passengers flew into or out of D/FW International Airport. About 30 airlines fly from D/FW to points within Texas, the United States, and all over the world. With more than 90.000 non-stop seats daily, passengers are never more than 3 hours away from either coast.

Love Field in Dallas offers an average of 14 daily scheduled flights on Southwest and Muse airlines within Texas and surrounding states. More than six million passengers travel through Love field annually. Located 12 miles north of downtown Dallas is Addison Municipal Airport. With over 900 planes and 10 turbo-engined jets based there, it has become one of the 10 busiest municipal airports in the nation. More information about the Conference will be made available to MCAA members shortly, including more about the sights and sounds of Dallas and what it has to offer visitors. So start making your plans now to be at a great Conference in a great city!

SOUTHFORK RANCH

The Olla Podrida ("all in the pot") definitely lives up to its name. Located in an old barn in North Dallas, it's an artist's paradise of paintings, pottery and the like.

Southfork Ranch-Yes, there really is a Southfork Ranch where many of the scenes from the TV show "Dallas" are filmed. The ranch is located a few miles north of downtown Dallas.
