GRAFFITI REMOVAL

Keep Providence Beautiful, Inc., a nonprofit community organization, has produced a Graffiti Removal Manual to assist in removing graffiti safely and effectively. The manual provides a comprehensive evaluation of current graffiti removal and protectant materials and techniques. A step-by-step format and easy-to-read charts provide answers to such questions as where to begin, whom to ask and what to ask about removing graffiti. It includes information on graffiti agents, the nature of building surfaces, and preservation considerations. It also describes in detail current removal methods, generic removal and protectant products, and evaluates the results of different removal and protectant methods used on specific building surfaces.

A 25-minute slide presentation is also available and summarizes the manual's information. The manual and slide show were funded through the Rhode Island Historical Preservation Commission.

The Graffiti Removal Manual costs $5.95. To receive an order blank, contact Keep Providence Beautiful. 480 Charles Street, Providence, RI 02904 (401) 351-6440.
