Masonry Conference
CMCA holds annual conference in San Diego, California in conjunction with Masonry Expo '93.

AN DIEGO, California was the location of the 6th Canadian Masonry Conference. CMCA members were able to attend the many workshops and technical sessions of the Mason Contractors Association of America as well as enjoy their own program which was kicked off with the welcoming reception on Thursday, February 25. This year's reception had a Canadian theme, including a Mounted Policeman who greeted the attending delegates.

Friday February 26th, activities got underway with a wonderful buffet breakfast, followed by the Canadian Technical Session, which was moderated by Mark Patamia, executive director, C.C.M.P.A. This session introduced four new C.S.A. Masonry Standards: Masonry Design S304, Masonry Contractors A370, Mortar and Grout A179, and Masonry Construction A371. These standards will be finalized in 1993 and become effective in the next edition of the National Building Code of Canada. The Technical Session was so well received by all, making it standing room only as well as running an hour longer than scheduled to accommodate the many questions and concerns by the attendees.

EUGENE George, CMCA president, presents George Miller, retiring executive vice president of the Mason Contractors Association of America, with a checque and lifetime membership in CMCA.

THE HOSPITALITY suite provided for all delegates on Friday and Saturday was well attended.
