KENNETH A. GUTSCHICK
KENNETH A. GUTSCHICK is a consultant for the National Lime Association, Arlington, Virginia, having been with NLA since 1956, primarily in technical services. Although NLA covers a wide variety of chemical and construction markets, Gutschick has spent a large part of his career in highway and building construction, particularly in stabilization and masonry mortar. He has written many technical articles on lime, including several on mortar, he has also filmed and produced many NLA movies, including three involving the use of lime in mortar. He has served as secretary of ASTM C-7 on lime for over 30 years and has been a long time member of C-12 on mortar for unit masonry. He also won the Award of Merit from ASTM.
ALBERT W. ISBERNER
ALBERT W. ISBERNER is a consulting materials engineer. In prior career positions he was principal research engineer, then manager of quality assurance for the Portland Cement Association. He was the senior applications research engineer for the American Cement Corporation, and a civil engineer for the Wisconsin State Highway Commission. Isberner is a Fellow in the American Society for Testing and Materials and the American Concrete Institute. He is also a member of the Construction Specifications Institute and The Masonry Society and is a former member of the American National Standards Institute. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin with a BS degree in Civil Engineering, he has also had additional studies at Northwestern University. Isberner served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Wisconsin and has received the Walter Voss award from ASTM. He has written numerous articles in the field.
