Announcement Of 2018-2019 MCA Board

St. Louis, MO - January 26, 2018 - Election results for the 2018-2019 Board of the Mason Contractors Association of St. Louis were announced in January.

Words: David Gillick Martin Heck, Jr., President of Martin C. Heck Brick Contracting., was elected President of the Association. Martin C. Heck Brick Contracting was incorporated in 1975 by Martin C. Heck, Sr., the same year Martin C. Heck, Jr., began full time as a mason. Martin Heck, Jr. became part owner in 2000. Martin C. Heck Brick Contracting has worked on projects such as: Missouri Botanical Gardens, St. Louis Zoo and Forest Park. Other officers elected are Bradley C. Grant (Grant Contracting Company) as Vice President, Brian Smith (John J. Smith Masonry Company) as Secretary, and Brett Lampkin (Lampkin Masonry) as Treasurer.     Trustees elected are Gary Beirith (Beirith Masonry, L.L.C.), Daniel Dwyer (E.C. Landers Brickwork, Inc.), Nick Frisch (Frisch Masonry, Inc.), Tom Schmitt (Superior Waterproofing & Restoration Co., Inc.), and Luke Siebert (Heitkamp Masonry, Inc.).  Arbitration Board members are Brian J. Grant (Grant Contracting Company, Inc.), Thomas L. McDonnell (George McDonnell & Sons Tuckpointing Company), Jeffrey D. Schmidt (JDS Masonry, Inc.), John J. Smith, Jr. (John J. Smith Masonry Company) and Kenneth Westhoff (Leonard Masonry, Inc.). The Mason Contractors Association of St. Louis, which was chartered in March 1896, is one of St. Louis' oldest trade organizations. Its members include owners of contracting companies, along with businesses that supply the masonry industry, as well as the firms that serve its financial, legal and insurance needs.

(Algonquin, Ill.) Feb. 12, 2018 – Construction By Champion, LLC of Bellingham, Wash. is the latest company to have earned certi cation through the Masonry Certi cation program, sponsored by the Mason Contractors Association of America (MCAA). The MCAA has developed the national Masonry Certi cation program to provide customers with a tool to select mason contractors who are committed to quality and end user satisfaction. Quality of work and end user satisfaction are at the foundation of the certi cation program. Companies must earn 75.00 credit hours and pass an exam in order to become certi ed. In addition, companies must obtain 45.00 credits every three years to renew their certi cation. “We congratulate Construction By Champion, LLC in their commitment to quality service. Joslin Named MCAA Minnesota State Chairman

David Joslin Appointed To Represent Minnesota

Frantz Concrete Construction, LLC (St. Paul, Minn.) has been appointed to the position of MCAA Minnesota State Chairman. David graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Madison with a BS in Civil Engineering. He has been involved in the construction industry for 20 years, with 16 years in the masonry industry. He has been a company owner since 2010, and worked as project manager/estimator on numerous MC&MCA award winning masonry projects. Throughout the years, David has given his time to the industry and served in a number of positions including Management Trustee on the Minnesota Cement Masons Pension Fund, Management Trustee on the Minnesota Cement Masons Health and Welfare Fund, former board member with the Minnesota Concrete and Masonry Contractors Association, and Chairman and board member of the Minnesota Fair Contracting Foundation.
