KENNETH A. GUTSCHICK
KENNETH A. GUTSCHICK is a consultant for the National Lime Association, Arlington, Virginia, having been with NLA since 1956, primarily in technical services. Although NLA covers a wide variety of chemical and construction markets, Gutschick has spent a large part of his career in highway and building construction, particularly in stabilization and masonry mortar. He has written many technical articles on lime, including several on mortar. He has also filmed and produced many NLA movies, including three involving the use of lime in mortar. He has served as secretary of ASTM C-7 on lime for over 30 years and has been a long time member of C-12 on mortar for unit masonry. He also won the Award of Merit from ASTM.

MARIBETH BRADFIELD
MARIBETH BRADFIELD is the Manager of Technical Services for the National Concrete Masonry Association. She has been with the Association since 1989. She is involved in energy standard development, coordinating energy efficiency programs for the Association, and developing technical publications. She currently serves as membership secretary for the Masonry Standards Joint Committee of ACI, ASCE, and TMS. Bradfield chairs the program subcommittee of ASHRAE TC 4.9, Building Envelopes, and is a member of ASHRAE TC 4.4 on Thermal Insulation. She is also active in The American Concrete Institute and The Masonry Society. Bradfield was previously employed with McDonnell Douglas Aircraft Company. Responsibilities included analyzing the heat transfer characteristics of aircraft structures. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. She is a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Virginia.
